Find the Perfect Fit

A guide to finding the perfect fitting bra:

  • Place your breasts into the cups, and fasten the hooks, preferably on the loosest clasp so that you have room to tighten your bra as it stretches.
  • Put your arms through the straps and position the straps on your shoulders.
  • Lean forward and let your breasts naturally fall into the cups, and adjust them in place so your nipples are forward.
  • Position the band by ensuring it is level with the floor. Your nipple should sit halfway between your shoulder and elbow.

The support of a bra comes from 3 key areas:

  • The Band- provides 65% of the support. Therefore, your band needs to be comfortably snug to provide you with support.
  • The Wires- make up 25% of the support. A wire is important in providing you with lift and support. When a wire fits properly, you should not feel it.
  • The Straps- account for 10% of the support. Essentially, you should be able to drop your strap have have minimal movement.

You know your bra is fitting you perfectly when:

  • The band sits level around your body, parallel to the floor, creating a stable foundation of support.
  • The cups fully encompass your breast tissue, creating a smooth, flattering silhouette.
  • The underwires follow the natural shape of your breasts, comfortably framing and supporting them.
  • The centre gore (the panel between the cups) rests against your sternum, helping to anchor the bra in place.
  • The straps sit comfortably on your shoulders, providing balanced support while maintaining a comfortable fit.

Bra Sizing Guide

Because fit can vary significantly between styles and brands, we recommend shopping online for styles you have worn recently or from brands you already know and love. If you're interested in trying a new style, exploring a different brand, or think your size may have changed, we invite you to visit us in-store for a personalized fitting with one of our Fitting Specialists.

Bra sizing is not standardized across manufacturers, and many brands use different sizing systems around the world. As a result, you may notice multiple size conversions listed on a garment tag. The guide below outlines the sizing system we use at Brabary and provides general information about how various brands fit.

If you have any questions, we are always happy to help. We keep records of past purchases, allowing us to provide personalized recommendations whenever possible.

Please note that these fit guidelines are intended as a helpful reference. Individual styles may fit differently, even within the same brand.
